We asked our top designers how they make a home bedroom feel like an upscale hotel. Below, their shared some of their best-kept design secrets. So here it is, the top 10 tips to make your bedroom shine!
1) Boost Up Your Bed

Raising your bed immediately lends an elegant, inviting aesthetic. The bed is easier to access and looks more appealing. If you can’t afford to buy a new bed (or your current bed has a sentimental value for you), you can figure out a way to elevate it. Then put a skirt around the frame to hide your quick fix. Another trick would be to use an especially thick mattress, though these can get pretty expensive.I
2) High-End Linens

Most people agree that the best part of sleeping in a luxurious hotel is the linens. Since we spend at least ⅓ of our lives sleeping, it’s worth investing in top-quality sheets. Our designers recommend buying soft cotton blends with the high thread count. They may be pricey, but you’ll appreciate every penny spent.I
3) Pamper Yourself with Pillows

One easy and relatively inexpensive way to give your bedroom a facelift is to add a few plush pillows to your bed in various sizes. Combine three large ones with two smaller ones. If you want to go the extra mile, add a sixth one that’s even smaller to complete the look. You can play with the shapes and six is not a fixed number, but make sure the pillows are soft and high-quality. There’s nothing quite like cushy cushions…
4) Warm Lighting, Bedside Lamps

Make sure the lighting in your bedroom is conducive to relaxation. Get rid of any harsh lights, upgrade your light fixtures to make sure the light they produce is soft and warm. Beautiful bedside lamps are a great idea. They add a sleek look, and they’re practical.
5) Choose Your Color Palette Carefully

Unify the colors in your bedroom. Choose one color palette and go with it. The color of the walls, drapes, artwork and bed linens should all complement each other. Various colors of the same palette will give the room an artistic appeal, making your bedroom more comfortable and relaxing.
6) Get a Matching Headboard Wall & Bedside Tables

Your bed headboard and bedside tables should match, or at least correspond with each other. If you’ve got an antique wooden bed, add wooden bedside tables too. If it’s a brass frame and headboard, brass handles on the bedside tables will do the trick. This brings unity to the space and keeps a balance.
7) Glitz it Up with Gilded Mirrors

Beyond artwork that matches your color palette, mirrors are always a good idea. They make the room appear bigger and invite more light into the room. A mirror with a gilded frame brings a touch of royalty, or at least old-world charm. This little trick is not too expensive and will add an upscale vibe to your bedroom.
8) Indulge in Drapes

If you’ve got a window to dress, make it snazzy. Get fancy drapes that match your chosen color palate. You can consider double drapes that allow you to choose how much light to let in. And don’t underestimate the importance of a designed curtain rod. It’s the little details that make all the difference.
9) Reduce Clutter

The cleaner the space, the better it looks. If you don’t have sufficient space for all your clothes, buy a bigger closet. Or get some bins and put them under your bed. If that doesn’t do it, invest in cabinets to keep the bedroom pristine. Empty, clean space promotes relaxation. And it looks better. Get rid of clutter!
10) Add a Rug, or Two

Even if you already have a carpet, adding some rugs to the bedroom can add style. There’s nothing more pleasant than stepping out of bed in bare feet onto silky strands and the aesthetic appeal will improve your mood. Find the right rug that makes you feel good.
